This month features the Celina Parks & Recreation Department and the highly-anticipated grand opening of The Old Celina Park expansion on July 10th: just in time for National Park & Recreation Month. We hope you celebrate by exploring the park.

The City is proud to announce winners for both the Life Connected and Volunteer of the Year Award. In addition, we share several opportunities for the whole family to have fun this summer, from the Library's Summer Reading Program to Splash & Blast, the City's Fourth of July celebration at the park!

There is much to be excited about in Celina this month. Several Celina ISD students advanced to State competitions, the inaugural Citizens Government Academy application is live, and (last but not least) the City officially welcomes the new Celina Police Chief John Cullison to the Celina family.

Issue 4 | April 2021

The City began gearing up for the kickoff of the major-event season with the Downtown Golf Tournament and the ever-popular Cajun Fest. Meanwhile, the City mourned after the tragic passing of Detective KC Robinson and daughter Brynlee Robinson.

Explore the history and heritage of Celina in this issue. Learn more about the first school in Celina and how our school system has evolved to the Celina ISD, which we know today! Or, dive into "Experience This" to learn more about Celina's own, the legendary Punk Carter and Punk Carter Ranch.

Celina surpassed Frisco in monthly housing permits in December 2020, becoming the #1 city in the region in terms of new single-family home starts. In addition, we do a deep dive into construction updates: sharing progress videos on several major projects throughout the City.
